Inland Empire United Way announces $566,000 in commitments to local nonprofit organizations working to meet basic needs and provide lasting impact in the areas of Education, Health, and Financial Stability in the Inland Empire.
Grants ranging from $5,000 up to $25,000 will be provided to 45 local nonprofit organizations/programs, serving the Pomona Valley and the West End, East Valley, and High Desert areas of San Bernardino County over the coming 12 months. Among those receiving funding are a variety of programs assisting individuals and families in need throughout the Inland Empire, including after-school programs, counseling programs, food security programs, homeless shelters, college and career readiness programs, and financial security programs.
A vital part of IEUW’s mission is partnering with other local, results-oriented nonprofits that are committed to improving the lives and futures of low-income families and their children in our community. Each year, a volunteer review team – comprised of local donors and community representatives – conducts a diligent review of programs to determine the best investment of United Way’s dollars.

Grants awarded fall under two categories: Safety Net Grants and Impact Grants. Organizations receiving a Safety Net Grant are those with programs that meet short-term, basic needs and provide an immediate impact for individuals and families in need. Impact Grants are awarded to organizations that are able to demonstrate measurable, long-term results that provide lasting impact in the Inland Empire.
